  The National Green Hydrogen Mission, with a budget of $19,744 billion, was approved by the Union Cabinet on Wednesday with the goal of making India a major exporter in the industry and a hub for the production, use, and export of green hydrogen and its derivatives. The development will help India, one of the world's biggest greenhouse gas emitters, achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2070. Anurag Thakur, a Union Minister, informed media of the Cabinet's decision by saying, "The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the National Green Hydrogen Mission." The mission's baseline budget remains at 19,744 crore. The government has allotted 17,490 crore out of this sum for the SIGHT programme, 1,466 crore for prospective pilot projects, 400 crore for R&D, and 388 crore for other mission-related components.   In spite of the bitter weather, hundreds of people bearing the Tricolor marched across the countryside as part of the Congress's Bharat Jodo Yatra, which had stopped for the night in this village of Ailum. According to Congress Uttar Pradesh unit spokesperson Anshu Awasthi, former party chairman Rahul Gandhi arrived in the area from Delhi before the march resumed. The march is expected to enter Panipat in Haryana in the evening, ending its journey in the politically crucial state that sends 80 members to Lok Sabha.   Gandhi, who was again seen wearing a white T-shirt that he has sported for much of the journey, was accompanied by senior Congress leaders such as former Union minister Jairam Ramesh and the party's state chief Brijlal Khabri.   Union Home Minister Amit Shah will officially launch the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) "Jan Viswas Yatra" in the state today in anticipation of the upcoming Assembly Election in Tripura. On Thursday, Shah will launch the "Jan Viswas Yatra" from the Tripura districts of Dhamanagar in the north and Sabroom in the south. To increase its support base in the state, the Tripura BJP will launch the "Jan Viswas Yatra" programme. The eight-day Yatra will visit 60 of the state's constituencies. The Yatra's primary goal is to highlight the advancements made by the BJP government since that year. JP Nadda, the national president of the BJP, will be present on January 12 when the yatra's last day, when he will address the crowd.

  The 18 CRPF companies - approximately 1,800 personnel - will be rushed to the Jammu region for deployment mainly in Poonch and Rajouri districts.   The National Capital on Wednesday recorded the coldest day of this season as a cold wave persists in the city, informed India Meteorological Department (IMD) official. According to IMD officials, Safdarjung and INA recorded the lowest temperature of 4.4 degrees Celsius. "Cold wave persists in the city, today is the coldest day of this season. Today Safdarjung and INA recorded the lowest temp of 4.4 degrees Celsius. The temperature has been recorded as similar to the cold spell between December 25-27," said IMD Scientist Dr RK Jenamani. However, in the last 24 hours, no dense fog conditions have been recorded. "The cold condition will remain in the city for the next 24-48 hours due to the upcoming Western Disturbance (WD)," said Dr Jenamani. Dr Jenamani also said that an orange alert has been issued for the next two days.
